BioAlberta currently lists over 100 members, including producers, users and supporters of biotechnology activities in Alberta. On behalf of it's membership, BioAlberta promotes increased awareness and support for the growth of Alberta's biotechnology industry and biotech capabilities across all sectors.
BioAlberta is a member of the Biotech Accord, which includes other bioindustry development organizations, as well as the national bioindustry organization, BIOTECanada.

LifeSciences British Columbia is an industry association operated largely by corporate members, who ensure that LifeSciences British Columbia is an effective advocate on issues affecting them. In turn, LifeSciences British Columbia increases their ability to network and gather information on an international basis, and represents their views to the general public and government. As a peak industry representative association, QCTN is an ‘umbrella organisation’ representing more than 100 organisations, including life sciences service providers and related entities serving the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, complementary medicines and medical devices industries. QCTN is a primary point of contact for international organisations seeking to undertake preclinical and clinical drug development in Australia, and is involved in organising trade missions, seminars, industry workshops, conferences, government advocacy, establishing and maintaining relationships with other industry groups around the world. QCTN is proud to be host of the Translational Research Excellence (TRX) Conferences held in Brisbane, Australia.

BIO Deutschland
Berlin, GermanyAs the sector association of the biotechnology industry, BIO Deutschland has set itself the objective of supporting and promoting the development of an innovative economic sector based on modern biosciences. The Berlin-based association currently has over 285 members. It is run by a board of ten members consisting of CEOs and managing directors of biotechnology companies, as well as directors of BioRegions. This committee comprehensively represents the various fields in the sector.
European Association of Pharma Biotechnology (EAPB)
Berlin, GermanyThe European Association of Pharma Biotechnology (EAPB) is a professional association dedicated to the advancement of biotechnology in pharmaceutical sciences, specifically as applied to medicinal drugs, industrial materials, processes, products and their associated issues. Its members constitute specialists employed in industry, government and university laboratories, biotech companies and scientific organisations. Members are scientists (individual membership), companies, departments of companies and organisations from academia (corporate membership), but also industry, especially pharmaceutical industry and related sciences involved in pharma biotechnology.
Assobiotec
Milan, ItalySet up in October 1986 within the Italian Federation of the Chemical Industry (Federchimica), Assobiotec is the Italian Association for the Development of Biotechnology, representing more than 120 companies and science & technology parks operating in Italy and involved in various biotech-related fields: pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, agro-food, fine chemicals, environment, processing industry and equipment. They include emerging biotech companies and small to medium enterprises, as well as the biotech divisions of large organisations. Assobiotec provides entrepreneurial support to Italian and EU biotech developments and is the landmark for Italian companies involved in production and marketing of products derived from biotech applications.

With more than 60 members it represents the majority of the Dutch biotechnological companies and related organisations in human and animal healthcare, food, feed, agriculture and environment. Among its members are not only large multinationals companies such as Unilever and Akzo Nobel, but also small biotechnological companies, major research institutes and associations in related sectors. Niaba is active in the fields of lobbying and advising governments, but also on issues such as research and development. Furthermore Niaba focuses on communication with the general public on biotechnology.
Portuguese Bioindustries Association (APBio)
Oeiras, PortugalAPBio was created in 1998 by two biotechnology companies: BIOTECNOL and STAB. This national association is part of the EUROPEAN BIOINDUTRIES ASSOCIATION, to which belong 14 national associations in a total of 600 associated companies. EuropaBio establishes the connection between the members, gathering and distributing information, organizing seminars and conferences about subjects of interest and supporting many other initiatives related to Biotechnology (publics' opinion inquiries, promotion and sensitization to these new techniques). EUROPABIO has the same objective as APBio and other national associations but it's actions operate at an European level, using the strength of their associates to influence the legislative power in order to create a favorable atmosphere for the development of Biotechnology.
European Federation of Biotechnology
Barcelona, SpainThe European Federation of Biotechnology (EFB) was established by European scientists in 1978. The objective of EFB is to promote safe and ethically acceptable biotechnology for the better use of Nature's resources. EFB also wishes to expand collaborations between academic and industrial researchers throughout Europe to increase competencies, strengthen education, promote innovation and increase the benefits of biotechnological research to society at large. Every second year, EFB holds a European Congress on Biotechnology, which typically attracts more than a thousand people.

Madrid, SpainThe Spanish Bioindustry Association (ASEBIO) brings together companies, associations, foundations, universities, technology and research centers that undertake their activities either directly or indirectly related to biotechnology in Spain. ASEBIO has acted as a meeting and promotion platform for those organizations interested in the development of the national biotechnology field since 1999. ASEBIO therefore works in close collaboration with regional, national and European governments together with all those social organizations interested in the use of biotechnology for improving the quality of life, the environment and the generation of skilled employment.

SBA is the industry association of small and medium-sized enterprises active in all areas of biotechnology as well as a highly respected networking platform for the multinational companies active in the sector. Biopartner.co.uk organises international biopartnering events, projects and missions, operating both independently and in partnership with the UK government. For conferences such as BioPartnering North America, BioPartner coordinates the UK presence and disseminates tradeshow access grants to help UK-based SMEs exhibit their services and products.
